My mission trip to Croatia is just around the corner now.  I will be departing from LAX on Sat the 7th at 8:55am.  That means I have to leave for the airport around 5am.  There are still many things to prepare for the trip.  My heart is speeding up faster and faster each day with excitement.  Wondering what God’s wonderful miracles I will encounter and experience.  Last year by God’s grace I went to my first mission trip with CMF Ministries (Christian Marriage and Family Ministries).  God has shown me that His hand was truly big and does hold the world in His hand as the lyrics of our children’s song go.  I always knew it in my mind but haven’t experience it much since I haven’t travel much outside California.   But each time I do it just hits me how big His hand is.  Last year, through the mission trip, God showed me a vision of His hands holding somehow all the children in between Greece and US ? making a connection and forming a circular form in ways that I cannot describe.

God also showed me that I CAN do all things through Jesus Christ.  I have been complaining that I’m too old to lead children’s praise in Sunday school and that I can’t sing at all.  But God showed me again that it’s not me but Holy Spirit who works through me.  Last year all the programs went well and everyone who saw me couldn’t believe I had that much of energy and vitality.  I didn’t get sick when I returned to US either.  This proofs again and again that all things will work out when I let Him be in charge.

Letting Him do it is the hardest part.  I’m still learning to let go of things.  So this year when CMF was called to go to Croatia for MK ministry (missionary kids) and I was asked to be in charge of the elementary group my heart was willing.  I enjoy teaching and being surrounded by children; but since last year my heart went out further to MKs.  I think God wants me to turn my attention to MKs now ? expend my scope.  This has me thinking about my parents who are missionaries in Kenya, East Africa a lot.  I am very grateful that my father at latter years of his life has obeyed God’s calling and became a missionary 22 years ago.  The Bible tells that parent’s blessings will pass on to his children if children obey and keep God’s commands.  I am thankful for this great gift.  I hope these MKs will realize the enormous blessing their parents have given to them too.  Life in a strange land isn’t easy.  It sure wasn’t for me when I came to US.  So God has called 13 people from CMF to go out and give courage, challenge and lots of TLC (tender loving care) to MKs in East Europe.

Recently while I was doing my QT (quite time) a verse that I memorized since my college year has touched my heart.  It was Hebrew 11:1, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”   I don’t know these MKs personally to know what they need but this verse gave me assurance that with faith what we hope to achieve will be done because it is God’s plan.  Therefore with hope we go and deliver His message to these kids.

Secondly this verse has assured me to trust Him with all my burden ? may it be leading the praise, missing the work (it’s a bit busy at this period of time), finance or being in charge of elementary group.  God will do His part and I would like to ask you to participate in this mission trip with your prayers and finance support.  This mission trip’s estimated cost, excluding the airfare (individual burden), is $2,000 per person.

Following are my prayer request.  Please pray for these whenever you can.

1)     Oneness in our team to work together faithfully and obediently

2)     May the children come with open heart to receive the love God prepared for them in order that their hearts & spirits be restored and challenged

3)     I put God in charge of all that will happen so that His will be done in Croatia

4)     Pray for people of Croatia and surrounding countries to believe in Jesus Christ

5)     For my tooth ache ? I recently found out that I have crack on one of the root of my bottom right molar.  Pray for no pain especially during the flight.

6)     Speedy recovery from jet legs when our team returns ? most of us have to go to work the next day J

Thank you so much and I’ll send an update of the trip when I return.  God bless.

Sincerely,

Vicky Bae
